ABOUT

I started in pottery in 1971, after an evening spent with Michael Cardew talking about Nigerian potteries while Ladi Kwali handbuilt and decorated a large jar. My study and practice have benefited greatly from exposure to a wide range of generous potters and studios, including Jim Lorio, Jim Romberg, Tara Wilson, Doug Casebeer, Gail Nichols, Chris Gustin, Michael Kline, Northern Clay Center, Archie Bray and Anderson Ranch. Since 2001, I have worked as a member of the Colorado Potters Guild in Denver.

FOCUS

I make functional pots meant for everyday home, garden, and restaurant use.  I strive to make useful pots that can participate and enrich our social nature and perhaps engage the imagination.
